Since the beginning, Cambridge Pavingstones were
produced using our unique concrete mix design, ArmorTec.
Around 1998, professional contractors, landscape designers
and homeowners expressed an interest in concrete pavers
with an antiqued, distressed surface as found in natural
stone or Belgian block. In response, we introduced The
Renaissance Collection. To best replicate the characteristics
you asked for, we chose a very coarse mix design for our
newest pavingstone collection — much different from the
ArmorTec collections because the surfaces of these pavers
did not have ArmorTec, and therefore their surfaces
included large aggregate (stones). |
In 2007, we listened again when you insisted that
the Renaissance Collection also be made with ArmorTec
because of the lasting beauty and many other proven
advantages it assured. In March of 2007, the Cambridge
Design/Production Team met the challenge and began
manufacturing every Cambridge Pavingstone with
the added value of ArmorTec… including Renaissance,
without losing its distinctive “aged” appearance. Shown
below is a Cambridge Pavingstone that was made without
ArmorTec, installed in 2006 and subjected to snow
plowing, de-icing salts and normal wear. |
